What do you love about SJEDS?
The caring faculty and the genuine love of all the students.
How long have you been teaching at SJEDS and what motivated you to become a teacher here?
I taught three years at SJEDS, then I was a stay at home mom for 7 years. This upcoming year is my fourth year back at SJEDS.
What is your favorite tradition at SJEDS?
Washington DC Trip, First Grade Buddies, Kanuga Sixth Grade Trip, Sixth Grade Bell Ringing, and Graduation
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I started my love of reading in fourth grade after my teacher read us a book that I thought was wonderful. It was the “Boxcar Children”. My goal is for each child to find that love for reading that I did.
How do you nurture and challenge your students through mind, body and spirit?
I expect each of my students to give me a 110%. They never know what they can do until they put their best into their work. I challenge my students, but each of them know that I want them to succeed and that I truly care for them. I will help them to reach their fullest potential with positivity and cheerfulness!
Please provide any additional information you would like to share.
Both of my children attend SJEDS. I know they are cared for, loved, and are being taught everything they need to be well- rounded children and then adults.
