Our primary goal is to meet the unique needs of all of our students and help them reach their full potential. Our curriculum is designed to provide each student with a strong foundation for academic success. In addition, we offer a variety of support services that extend beyond the classroom.
Through differentiation, we are able to determine when a student needs additional support whether it is with one specific concept or as an on-going effort. We offer student support in the classroom or in the Support Center, on an individual basis or in small groups during the confines of the school day at no charge. For those students that need on-going support, we also coordinate services with a qualified tutor. Our response is fluid and meets the ever-changing needs of our students.
Students who excel naturally and need to be challenged benefit from our enrichment services. As a school that practices differentiation in the classroom, students are able to excel and learn at their own pace. Our weekly “Think Tank” sessions also allow time for students to explore areas of interest with small groups and teacher facilitators.
SJEDS also provides vision, hearing and speech screenings for students, and coordinates therapy sessions when needed.
We provide counseling and guidance to students as needed, and as a mission of San Jose Episcopal Church, our ordained priest is available to counsel students and families in times of crisis.
