Shannon and her husband Matt have two children, Caroline and Evelyn, who are current SJEDS students. Shannon was born in Jasper, Florida, and has lived in Jacksonville since 1999. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Valdosta State University, and worked as an ICU nurse at Baptist Medical Center until Caroline was born. Shannon served 3 years on the SJEDS Parents’ Association Executive Board, and has chaired several committees. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering.
Sue was born in New York and has lived in Jacksonville for 21 years. She attended Southern Illinois University with an undergraduate degree in Physical Education, and a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation. Sue has worked in healthcare for 33 years and currently works at Wolfson Children’s Hospital on the Behavioral Health Unit as a recreation therapist, and the Wolfson medical units as a massage therapist with the Integrative Care team. She just completed a 200 hour yoga certification program. She lives with her partner Nan and their two cats. Sue is a member of the San Jose Episcopal Church and enjoys spending time with family, nature, travel, yoga, golf, running, zumba, and reading.
Andrea was born and raised in Orange Park, Florida. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Mathematics, and went on to graduate school at Georgia State University. She is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, and works part time as an Actuary for Transamerica Life. She has served four years on the SJEDS Parents’ Association Executive Board. Andrea’s husband Drew is also from Orange Park. They have two children, Ellie, an SJEDS alum and Katie, a current SJEDS student. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, volunteering and playing tennis.
Melody and her husband, George, are both from Mississippi but have been residents of Jacksonville for 10 years. Before settling in Jacksonville, they lived in seven different cities, including Des Moines, IA; Baltimore, MD; and Richmond, VA. They have three children: Mary Grace, an Episcopal School of Jacksonville alumna now studying at University of Florida; Camille and Thomas, both SJEDS alumni and current Episcopal School of Jacksonville students. Melody graduated with a degree in Psychology and Special Education from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. She was a special education teacher for four years in both Florida and Mississippi and served on organizational committees for the Special Olympics for two years. While Camille and Thomas were students at SJEDS, Melody was very active in the Parents’ Association and served as Gala Chair for two consecutive years. Melody is now the owner of Eligius Metal Works, an ornamental and miscellaneous metal provider. She is a member of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox church and loves cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
Brian is a native Floridian who grew up in Jupiter, Florida, and received his B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from Florida State University. He is currently employed by Black Knight Financial Services. Brian and his wife Charlotte have two children: Samuel, and Hannah, both SJEDS alums. They moved to Jacksonville in 2004 and are members of San Jose Episcopal Church. In his free time, Brian loves to play golf.
Allison is a Jacksonville native and a SJEDS alumni. She attended The Bolles School and received her degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of North Florida. Allison is currently employed as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for the Duval County Clerk of the Court. Allison and her husband, Joel have three children: Ethan, a current student at Episcopal School of Jacksonville and SJEDS alumni and Wyatt and Reese who are current SJEDS students. In her free time, Allison enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach and gardening.
Barbara has been a resident of Jacksonville since 1976. She graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management. She has been married to the love of her life, Scott, for thirty one years. Their daughter Caleigh attended SJEDS for eight years and is an alum with the Class of 2010. Caleigh graduated from Episcopal in 2016 and now attends the University of West Florida on a volleyball scholarship. During Caleigh’s years at SJEDS, Barbara served as a homeroom mom and co-chaired the Gala for two years. Entrepreneurship was on the horizon early in her life as she opened the doors to an interior design firm, Barbara Ondo Designs in 1987. The Morrison family has been a member of San Jose Episcopal Church since 1995. They enjoy participating in many projects and ministries, the most recent being the design of the new parlor. She is a member of NEFBA, SMC and serves as Vice President and on the ARB of the Villages of San Jose HOA. She enjoys entertaining, volunteering and traveling, especially to Caleigh’s volleyball games. This is Barbara’s first year on the Board of Trustees and she looks forward to contributing to the continued success of SJEDS.
Jay is employed by Black Knight Financial as a Senior Software Architect. He has been married for 16 years to Shannon Nunley, a teacher at SJEDS. They have two daughters, Addison and Alyssa, who attend SJEDS. He is the coach of his church’s softball team and involved in Native Sons and Daughters. He is a member of San Jose Country Club and attends San Jose Episcopal Church, where he has served on vestry.
Ray and his wife Jennifer have two children, Michael and Finley who are both current SJEDS students. Ray is a Jacksonville native and SJEDS alum. He and Jennifer graduated from the University of Florida, where they met. The O’Steen family attends Christian Family Chapel. Ray is a business and transactional lawyer, and founder of O’Steen Law. Previously, he was a shareholder with Smith Hulsey & Busey. In his free time, Ray enjoys spending time with family and friends, rooting for the Gators and skiing.
Laurie grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and moved to Jacksonville after graduating from Flagler College in 1992. Laurie and her husband Pat (a Jacksonville native) have two SJEDS alums; Julia 2013 and James 2015 currently enrolled at Episcopal School of Jacksonville. While at SJEDS, Laurie served two years on the SJEDS Parents’ Association Executive Board and chaired several committees, in addition to being Homeroom Mom for 7 consecutive years. The Reese family are members at Epping Forest Yacht Club, and San Jose Episcopal Church and actively participate in the Youth program. Laurie has been an active Realtor since 1999. In her free time Laurie enjoys going to the beach, boating, reading, and photography.
Melissa is a California native and moved to Jacksonville with her family at the start of 2015. Melissa has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 16 years. She holds a Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in Early Childhood Special Education from Santa Clara University. Melissa and her husband Chris have two daughters, Brynn and Talya who are current students at SJEDS. Melissa is the Director of Children’s Ministries for San Jose Episcopal Church and her family are members of the church. Melissa is a fitness and outdoors enthusiast and dedicates as much time as possible training for Obstacle Course Races, running and hiking. She and her family love going to the beach and exploring new places on this side of the country!
Jennifer is a native of Jacksonville and attended the University of Georgia and University of North Florida with a B.A. in Business Administration. Jennifer is the Senior Regional Marketing Manager for PepsiCo where she has had a career for twenty-eight years. She and her husband Andy have three sons and are SJEC Parishioners. Jacob (MBA ’16 from The Citadel) and Adam (JU Senior in Nursing School) are SJEDS alums and Luke is a current student at SJEDS. She previously served on the Board of Trustees from 2002-2005. This is her second three year term. Jennifer also serves as President of the Jacksonville University President’s Parent Council and is a Generation WOW Mentor. In her spare time, she is an avid runner, enjoys mountain biking, the beach and watching her kids play sports.
