Congratulations! Rising 4th grader Juliette M. was Congratulations! Rising 4th grader Juliette M. was selected as a winner in the Scholastic Storyworks 3 nonfiction writing contest. In Cyndi McKnight's class, Juliette wrote a piece on the life of inventor Garrett Morgan, and it caught the eye of judges looking for demonstrated critical reading skills and an engaging response to the rigorous writing activity. Well done! #scholastic #storyworks3
Letters written by Grade 3 to the editor of The Fl Letters written by Grade 3 to the editor of The Florida Times-Union were published both in print and online on behalf of manatees, sea turtles, and our local waterways. Teacher Mrs. Cyndi McKnight told her students, "I am so proud of you all for finding a topic that you were passionate about and writing for a real world purpose." Well done, Grade 3, very insightful!

Sixth Grade came up clutch at nearly every opportu Sixth Grade came up clutch at nearly every opportunity in their hall-of-fame-worthy showing over Team Faculty in the Annual Kickball Game. Hosted by all-time pitcher Rush and all-time umpire Schoonover, the energy by players and spectators alike was off the charts. Several Team Faculty players - Jones, Rogers, Small, and Jaeger, to name a few - pushed the momentum, lending to a speechless Sixth Grade. Overall, Sixth Grade, led by Father Britt, dominated all innings in the 43-20 match. Faculty said they will be practicing throughout the post-season, ready to take on Rising Sixth, who hyped their prowess from the sideline. Game on! See you next year!

• Favorite memory: "Traveling to Washington, D.C. in 5th Grade was my favorite because I spent a lot of time with my friends and was able to experience in person all that we had learned in American History."
• Favorite service project: "The Food Drive for St. Mary's was meaningful because we were able to help feed people in need."
• Favorite tradition: "The Eco-Trip because we learned so much about nature and had the most amazing time."
• Advice for 5th Grade as they rise to 6th: "You will have many unique opportunities in 6th Grade."

Second grade completed an in-depth study of the hu Second grade completed an in-depth study of the human body, including exploration of major organ functions, system descriptors, and nutrition topics. Each student used a life-size outline of their own body to create the anatomical diagramming of organs, muscles, and bones.

• Favorite memory: "Going to Washington, D.C. in 5th Grade! I had so much fun traveling with all my friends and visiting the Capital Wheel. I also loved the memory boxes our parents put together in 6th Grade."
• Favorite service project: "The St. Mary's Food Pantry was definitely my favorite. It was amazing to make a village out of the huge amount of food we collected."
• Favorite tradition: "The 1st/6th Grade Buddies tradition! I loved having an amazing buddy, and I loved being a buddy. It is such a sweet tradition."
• Advice for 5th Grade as they rise to 6th: "You will love 6th Grade! The work may be challenging, but don't give up. It will all make sense, and you won't need to stress!"
